Arabic Reading/Translation Workshop

Faculty Advisor: Prof. Shady H. Nasser (NELC), snasser@fas.harvard.edu
Graduate Student Coordinator: Conor Dube (NELC), cdube@g.harvard.edu

The Arabic Reading Workshop brings graduate students and faculty together to read Arabic texts that a student is working on for their dissertation or other research project. Participants read and translate their text, focusing on a thorough comprehension of the Arabic and an elegant translation into English. One of the workshop’s main goals is to offer students the opportunity to meet other Arabists in the department and throughout Harvard and to see what they are currently working on.

Unless otherwise noted, during the Spring 2019 term, we will meet on a weekly basis on Mondays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Harvard Semitic Museum (HSM), Room 201, except for March 18 (Spring Break) and April 8 (room occupied for event). Snacks and beverages are provided. Those who are interested in presenting a reading/translation should get in touch with Conor (cdube@g.harvard.edu) to sign up for an available session.

If you would like to be added to the mailing list, please email cdube@g.harvard.edu. This workshop is primarily intended for graduate students, but all are welcome.
