I have a general enthusiasm for the Ancient Near East, and a particular interest in Mesopotamian religion. I am early in my studies, and still exploring the topic broadly in my research. For the time being, my hope is to bring to bear insights from anthropology and other fields of ancient history in order to study religion as social system, not just of human to god but also of one person to another. When I’m not buried in the library reading cuneiform, I enjoy exploring New England with my family and trying to convince my wife to let me teach our newborn daughter Akkadian.
