Please join the Department in welcoming three new members to our community:
Sara Feldman, Preceptor of Yiddish. Feldman is our newly appointed Yiddish preceptor, and will teach Yiddish language at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels (YIDDISH AA/AB; YIDDISH BA/BB; YIDDISH CA/CB).
Nebil A. Husayn, Visiting Assistant Professor of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (spring 2019). Husayn is an Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Miami. He taught "Early and Medieval Islamic History" (ISLAMCIV 135) in spring 2018, and will teach it again this spring 2019.
Yair Zakovitch, Weinstock Visiting Professor of Jewish Studies (fall 2018). Zakovitch is the Emeritus Father Takeji Otsuki Professor of Bible at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He will teach two courses this fall: "Biographies in the Hebrew Bible" (ANE 209) and "Reading the Song of Songs" (HEBREW 204).
