Peter Manuelian received a Rothenberg grant

Peter Manuelian, Philip J. King Professor of Egyptology, received a grant from the Anne and Jim Rothenberg Fund for Humanities Research.

His proposal,  "Visualizing Art & Archeology: ‘Fabricating’ a Royal Chair from Ancient Egypt for a Harvard Semitic Museum Exhibit" is for finishing 3D milling, faience-inlaying, and gilding a royal chair from the tomb of Queen Hetepheres at Giza (ca. 2500 BC). The chair will eventually go on display in the Semitic Museum; the Museum will help fund the project.
