Tulaib is an AM Candidate at NELC where he primarily focuses on Qur’anic studies. His main areas of interest include the variant readings of the Qur’an (the qirā’āt) and the orthoepy of Qur’an recitation (tajwīd). His other interests include kalām, taṣawwuf (Islamic mysticism), Ḥanafi jurisprudence, Islam in South Asia, Urdu poetry, and linguistics. Tulaib received his BA in Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley in 2018. He has traditional training in the qirā’āt and tajwīd sciences.
