Miguel Angel Correa
Miguel Correa is a PhD student in Hebrew Bible in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. Before joining Harvard, he earned his BA (double major) in Biblical Studies and Archaeology and Ancient Near Eastern Studies, as well as his MA in Biblical Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
His research focuses on ancient law, particularly concerning purity, cult and authority, in the Pentateuch, the Ancient Near East, and its reception in Second Temple Judaism, and Rabbinic literature. His approach is historical, philological and text-critical grounded, engaging with diverse theories of law, religion, anthropology, and psychology. Additional research interests include Hebrew poetry and prayer from the Hebrew Bible until the present, the afterlife of biblical texts in medieval and modern interpretation, and Levantine archaeology.
