Jesse S. Arlen is Lecturer in Armenian Studies at Harvard University. He is the author of many articles and book chapters relating to medieval religious literature and intellectual history, with particular attention to asceticism and mysticism. He is the co-author of Odes of Saint Nersess the Graceful: Annotated Translation (New York: Tarkmaneal Press, 2024). He has taught Classical Armenian at several institutions and is a published author of poetry and creative and critical prose in Western Armenian. His forthcoming book concerns the life and literary works of the 10th-century abbot Anania of Narek monastery.
