Dissertation Title: Social Stratification in Southern Mesopotamia during the Third Dynasty of Ur (ca. 2100–2000 BCE)
My Assyriological studies began with passions for the languages and writing systems of the ancient Near East, which I have deepened with my specialization in the abundantly documented Ur III period and the third millennium of southern Mesopotamia more broadly. Considering the overwhelming administrative and economic natures of Ur III texts, my dissertation addresses social stratification, which is fundamental to the socioeconomic history of the Ur III period and the ancient Near East in general. Besides socioeconomic history, I am interested in political ideology, especially in Akkadian and Sumerian dedicatory and literary texts, among others.
