Joël Sebban, NELC Post Doctoral Fellow, dissertation to be published by Editions Odile Jacob

An Alumnus of the École Normale Superieure and an Arthur Sachs Fellow at Harvard's Department of History (2014-2017), Joel Sebban holds a Ph.D in modern religious history from Sorbonne University (2017) (book in preparation for Odile Jacob: The Origins of the "Judeo-Christian Tradition." The Nation-State, the Synagogue and Christian Churches in France, from Napoleon to the Second World War). His postdoctoral research is centered on the connection between the notion of the "Judeo-Christian tradition" and that of the "Abrahamic legacy" in Europe and the United States. He is also a Prins Foundation Fellow at the Center for Jewish History for the academic year 2017-2018.
