Ali Asani led an exploratory seminar at the Radcliffe Institute

Ali Asani, Professor of Indo-Muslim and Islamic Religion and Cultures, led an exploratory seminar at the Radcliffe Institute this August. During this two-day seminar, entitled "Fostering Religious Literacy through the Arts: The case of Islam," Prof. Asani was joined by over a dozen scholars and students from various fields to discuss the value of employing visual arts and sonic cultures as pedagogical tools. Each participant shared their own experiences using the arts to innovatively teach about Islam. The event successfully created a space for exchange of ideas and practices to further pedagogy of religious studies.
