Ryan Hart is a PhD student in Assyriology in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations. Before entering Harvard, he earned his BA in History at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an MA in Middle Eastern Studies (Assyriology) at the University of Chicago. His Master’s Thesis focused on the economics of agricultural production in Mesopotamia during the Neo-Babylonian and Achaemenid periods. His primary research interests are social and economic history in Mesopotamia, drawing from archival cuneiform documents, especially of the first millennium BCE.
