Nevenka Korica-Sullivan received her M.A. in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language from American University in Cairo. Ms. Sullivan served as Director of CASA program (Center for Arabic Studies Abroad, AUC) from 2006-2010, in which she also taught Arabic beginning in 1999. A native of Belgrade, Serbia, she earned her B.A. in Arabic and Turkish languages from the Department of Oriental Philology, University of Belgrade. Ms. Sullivan worked as a translator and news announcer in the Arabic service at Radio Yugoslavia. She is the co-author of Media Arabic: A Coursebook for Reading Arabic News (AUC Press, 2007). Her professional interests include second language acquisition, pedagogy and curriculum development for higher levels of proficiency. She is also a member of the Arabic team developing items for an online Listening and Reading Proficiency test being developed by the National Middle East Language Resource Center.
