Moshe Halbertal is the Gruss Professor at NYU Law School, and a professor of Philosophy at the Hebrew University. Among his books are *Idolatry* (co-authored with Avishai Margalit), *People of the Book: Canon, Meaning and Authority*, published by Harvard University Press, and *On Sacrifice*, and *Maimonides: Life and Thought*, published by Princeton University. His latest book, *Nahmanides: Law and Mysticism*, was published by Yale University Press in 2020. In 2010, he was named a member of Israel’s National Academy for Sciences and the Humanities, and in 2021, he was elected as a member of American Philosophical Society.
