During my first class at undergraduate at the University of Birmingham, I was introduced to the Epic of Gilgameš, and I have been consumed by Assyriology ever since. This led to undergraduate thesis on the Akkadian empire, then an MPhil at Girton College Cambridge, and a master’s thesis focused on authority in ancient Mesopotamian law codes. I have a general love for Sumerian and Akkadian literature, for the reconstruction of history, and for considering questions about individuals and ‘the state’ through the biased lens of our cuneiform sources. I am particularly excited at the thought of inter-disciplinary work, as I firmly believe this is the future of our discipline. In my free time, I can be found DJing, reading for pleasure, or exploring The New World!
