His work explores reactionary movements and figures that redefined the intellectual framework of Judaism in early modern Europe. He is the author of The Scandal of Kabbalah: Leon Modena, Jewish Mysticism Early Modern Venice (Princeton, 2011) and Dissident Rabbi: The Life of Jacob Sasportas (Princeton, 2019). <br> </p>
