Intentional Mistranslation: Locating the Polylingual and Transnational in Anglophone Postcolonial Writing

Kazim Ali (Oberlin College), poet, novelist, professor, and translator, will speak on Wednesday, April 4, at noon in Barker 133 on "Intentional Mistranslation: Locating the Polylingual and Transnational in Anglophone Postcolonial Writing." Ali has translated L’Amour, by Marguerite Duras, as well as two volumes of poetry by Iranian poet Sohrab Sepehri. He is also the author of four books of poetry and two novels, among other works. This talk is co-sponsored by the Harvard English Department and the Woodberry Poetry Room, Lamont Library.
