Congratulations to[ Dr. Conor Dube](https://www.universiteitleiden.nl/en/staffmembers/conor-dube#tab-1) and [Dr. Haci Osman Gündüz (Ozzy)](https://www.macalester.edu/classics/facultystaff/haci-gunduz/) for winning the [2025 Alwaleed Bin Talal Dissertation Prize in Islamic Studies](https://islamicstudies.harvard.edu/news/2025/10/2025-alwaleed-bin-talal-dissertation-prize-announcement)! Dr. Dube won for his dissertation entitled, *Interpreting the Qurʾān in the Islamic West (7th – 11th c.): Tradition and Transformation in Tafsīr.* Dr. Gündüz won for his dissertation entitled, *A Rūmī in the Lands of Shām: Life, Poetry, and Legacy of a Janissary-Turned-Poet Māmayya al-Rūmī (d. 985–7/1577–9).* Congratulations, Conor and Ozzy!
