**Workshop Language**: Arabic

**Workshop Audience**: Priority for new, second-language Arabic instructors (5 years or fewer in the field), master's

and doctoral students, or bachelor's/bachelor's degree students in their final year outside the United States.

**Workshop Outcomes:**

At the end of the workshop, participants will be familiar with:

- General principles of learning Arabic a second language
- Vocabulary-learning strategies
- Grammar-learning Strategies
- Culture-learning Strategies
- Reading Strategies
- Writing Strategies
- Listening Strategies
- Speaking Strategies
- Communicative Language Classroom Management Strategies

\- A statement in Arabic (100 - 500 words) explaining the applicant's philosophy re: teaching Arabic as a second/other language and their perspectives on language proficiency.
