**Ali Sethi, Musician and Author**
*A lecture and demonstration*

Wednesday, 11/14 @ 5:30pm, Thompson Room, Barker Center (12 Quincy St. Cambridge, MA)

‘From Lahore With Love’ is a lecture-cum-demonstration by musician and author **Ali Sethi** (Harvard ‘06) that reveals the many ways in which Sufi poets and musicians have encoded a subversive ambiguity into South Asia’s religious-cultural ethos, one that continues to empower experiential forms of knowledge while confounding the attempts of state, corporate and global forces to appropriate Sufi poetry and music for hegemonic goals.

Chair: **Ali Asani,** Professor of Indo-Muslim and Islamic Religion and Cultures, Harvard University

**Please note: This event is free and open to the public but space will be limited and seats are only available on a first come, first served basis.**
