Peter Manuelian to edit new book series on Egyptology

Brill Signs New Harvard Egyptological Studies Book Series

Leiden (NL) / Boston (MA) - 10 June 2014

Brill, the international scholarly publisher, has signed an
agreement to publish a book series in cooperation with the
Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations, and
the Department of Anthropology, both of which are in the Faculty
of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University. The book series is
entitled "Harvard Egyptological Studies."

The series will present scholarly publications in the field of
Egyptology and will highlight, but is by no means limited to,
aspects of the Harvard University-Boston Museum of Fine Arts
Expedition (1905-1947). Invited topics include recent PhD
dissertations, reports from excavations, specialized studies
in ancient Egyptian language and culture, conference proceedings,
and the history of the field of Egyptology.

The series will be edited by Peter Der Manuelian, Philip J. King
Professor of Egyptology and Director of the Harvard Semitic Museum,
and the first volume in the series will be available in 2015.  "We
are delighted with the University's new contribution to Egyptology,
and hope that among other accomplishments it will bring renewed
emphasis on the spectacular legacy of the Harvard-MFA Expedition,"
Manuelian said.
